Creating complex business documents

About the course

Are you a business manager or working in a supervisor role and need to design and develop complex business documents on a day to day basis? Expand your skills in writing complex business documents such as business reports, promotional documents or information booklets that require review and analysis of a range of information sources. With all the technical skills packed in this course, you can surely add more to your portfolio, taking your performance to the next level. This course has been aligned with the following units of competency from the Business Services training package:

BSBWRT401 Write complex documents
BSBITU401 Design and develop complex text documents

Upon successful completion of the course, you will receive a Statement of Attainment from BSB40515 Certificate IV in Business Administration.

This course may be funded by the NSW Government for the eligible candidates.

Course duration

This course will be delivered two days a week 9.30 am to 3 pm (5 hours excluding lunch) over 4 weeks, with envisaged commencement date of the 3rd of September (Tue and Thu). You are expected to spend approximately 10 hours a week outside the classroom to study the manuals and other relevant learning resources and complete activities aligned with the topics discussed in the class.

Who can do this course?

This course is intended for those who are working in the area of business administration as a manager (or those who are expecting a promotion to a managerial role), team leader or supervisor and developing complex business documents is part of their regular goings-on.

Pre-requisite

You can reap the most from this program if you have strong computing skills especially in Microsoft Word and understand the administrative processes in a small to medium size enterprise. You also must have strong language, literacy and numeracy skills (LLN) to enrol into this course. If you believe your LLN skills may not be strong enough to attend this program, we have other programs that may be suitable for current skills and knowledge. Please let us know if this is the case.

Delivery strategies

This course will be delivered in a face to face classroom environment by an industry expert. The deliver strategies include but not limited to face to face lecture, demonstration, case study analysis, and research.

Assessment strategies

Assessments for this program will include both formative and summative assessments, meaning some activities will be completed during the class and the final part to be produced after the program.
