About the Course

Whether you are a graphic designer or artist, Adobe Illustrator offers you a flexible way to deploy your creative vision. Create freehand drawing and illustration such as logos, icons, website mark ups, and other complex shapes that can be scaled infinitely and can be used across multiple screens.

Prerequisite

No prior knowledge of Adobe Illustrator required; however candidates will need to be able to use personal computer including keyboard and mouse, and Windows OS 7 or later.

Learning outcomes

At the completion of this course you should be able to:

  • learn the basic and essential techniques to work with objects
  • set up and save new documents in Illustrator
  • draw basic shapes using the shapes tools
  • work with colour to fill object and strokes
  • apply and edit gradients and patterns
  • arrange objects and use layers to manage artwork
  • insert and import text and apply character and paragraph formatting and effects to text, and placing and editing an image
  • use templates and work with libraries
  • draw objetcs using the pen tool
  • apply a range of Illustrator effects
  • save and export in a variety of file formats to suite different purposes
  • print an Illustrator document

Learning strategy

The course is tutor led and delivered face to face in a class room environment. Learning strategies include face to face demonstrations, scenarios, questions and answers etc.
