About the course

In a competitive business world, what you write and how you write do matter a lot. With lots of real life examples, this 1 day workshop will provide you with practical knowledge to master the art of effective business writing: from emails, memos, and brochures to news letters and business reports.

What will I learn?

By the end of the course, you should be able to:

  • use appropriate templates or styles while writing a business document
  • use appropriate language based on the target recipients and avoid stereotyping or personal emotion
  • follow the relevant organisational policies and procedures to write different types of business documents
  • ensure your business communication includes the five W’s – Who, What, Where, Why, and When
  • understand the do’s and dont’s while writing an email or message i.e. etiquette
  • keep it simple i.e. avoide too many buzzwords and cliches and of course, too many jargons
  • write a tight email or other electronic documents but avoid symbols and abbreviations
