COURSE DESCRIPTION
Designed for people who would like to start at the very beginning. No previous knowledge is assumed. Great course for business travellers, those working in hospitality or tourism, for leisure travellers, for those wishing to communicate better with relatives and friends or who simply wish to learn a new language. The course also introduces you to important German customs. Enjoy speaking, reading, writing and hearing German in a friendly, relaxed and interactive atmosphere.

This course is specific to Germany, therefore you will be taught conventional German, however it may help you in your travels to Austria also as the dialect of both countries is very similar, but please be aware that the tutor is German and the focus is on Germany in this course.

COURSE CONTENT
Introduction to the German language: alphabet, pronunciation, fundamental grammatical elements, basic conversations, numbers (cardinal and ordinal), telling the time, plurals, genders of nouns, nationalities and languages, days of the week, months, seasons, other basic conversations, building simple phrases, introduction to the cases.

COURSE OUTCOMES
Know the German alphabet, greetings and farewells, introducing yourself, some other basic conversations e.g. telling how you are, asking others how they are, ordering at a restaurant/café (basic), understanding and use of formal & informal “you”, basic and advanced counting, giving dates (birthdays), introducing others (family, friends, colleagues etc), giving your profession, talking about leisure activities, talking about the weather, basic writing skills in German.
