Saturday Cake Decorating

In this class you will learn how to ganache a cake with chocolate. You will also learn how to cover a cake with
fondant icing, and get perfect sharp edges on your cake. Your cake will be finished with simple stars / circles / hearts.
You will learn how to use wired shapes when decorating a cake.

You will need to supply the following items for the class:
8" round cake
1.2kg chocolate ganache
8" round cake board
min 12" cake board to sit the cake on ( can be bigger if you like)
2kg fondant icing
small amount of clear gel or cmc or tylose ( to use with assisting drying the shapes for the top of the cake)
ribbon for the bottom of the cake (optional) can also use left over fondant.
ribbon for the cake board approx 6mm thick ( white or a colour to match your cake theme)
20 gage wire to use to stick out the top of the cake
1 x drinking straw
1 x large rolling pin
palate knife
2 x cake smoothers
1 x square set tool ( purchased from a hard ware store)
shape cutters if you have them eg hearts stars circles flowers etc
apron, and handtowel
box to take the cake home in can be purchased from tutor for $5.00 on the day.

Note: arrangements can be made for the list of equipment to be supplied or purchased on the day – however prior confirmation is needed with the tutor at least 2 weeks before the class commences.

Complete kit for the day as listed above will cost $ 165 - all you will need to bring then is yourself an apron and hand towel.

if you only require some items – please let us know prior to the day eg cake cake boards icing etc and tutor can put a price list together for the required items.
