TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment Cluster 1 (Design and Deliver Training)

Assessments are made against units of competency from the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment TAE40110.
  • Design and develop learning programs (TAEDES401A)
  • Plan, organise and facilitate learning in the workplace (TAEDEL402A)
  • Provide work skill instruction (TAEDEL301A)
  • Use training packages and accredited courses to meet client needs (TAEDES402A)
  • Plan, organise and deliver group-based learning (TAEDEL401A)

Certificate IV in Training and Assessment TAE40110 is designed for people who want to work within the National Training framework as trainers and assessors. To start this course you must have: subject expertise in the field in which you want to train and assess, English language and literacy skills sufficient to take part in training and assessment, computer literacy and access to a computer and the internet for research, accessing documents and templates from portable media and using email for communication. Computer usage is provided in the classroom for reference to internet sites and templates. Learning materials are supplied in a folder and on a memory stick. To gain the full qualification you will need to complete both Cluster1 1 & 2 and relevant assessments. In case of partial completion, a Statement of Attainment will be issued.

TAEDES402A Use training packages and accredited courses to meet client needs
TAEDEL301A Provide work skill instruction
TAEDEL401A Plan, organise and deliver group-based learning
TAEDEL402A Plan, organise and facilitate learning in the workplace

Delivery strategies

This course is delivered on a face to face basis led by a qualified and industry experienced trainer. Deliver strategies will include lectures with PowerPoint presentations, role play, case studies, and research.

Assessment strategies

Assessment strategies will include short answer questions, research, presentation, and workplace-based projects. In case, learners are unable to find a real life workplace for their project, a simulation may be arranged in the classroom.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

We understand some learners may have already delivered training as part of their job or as a trainer. If you believe you can demonstrate current experience and/or relevant qualifications that match the competency requirements of some of the units in this course, please consult with your trainer to apply for recognition.

Career outcomes

People who have completed the full qualification may be able to work as a trainer and assessor in a Registered Training Organization, or at a workplace. According to the requirements of Standard 15.4 under the Standards for NVR Registered Training Organisations 2012, you will also need to have relevant vocational competencies at least to the level being delivered or assessed and can demonstrate relevant current industry skills.
